To those who are concerned about the situation of animals on the streets, to those who give their lives in order to protect them with the shield of the conservationist spirit without expecting anything in return, to all organizations in favor of the rights of pets, we dedicate our next story, writes fancy4work
A dog or a cat needs attention, affection, care, even more so if their street life has left them with consequences. Such is the case of a puppy who was found with his fur matted, alone, sad and with serious health problems .
A puppy without even a name, but thanks to the empathy of those who found him on the side of the street and took him to the pro-animal organization KC Pet Project , today he improves and even lost his anonymity.
The volunteers baptized him with the name of Simon .
At the time of his rescue, Simon weighed nearly 20 pounds due to the large mass of hair and dirt stored on his body . The puppy was extremely scared, so as soon as he arrived at the shelter, the team of specialists proceeded to sedate him in order to shave him.
Finally, they were able to strip him of no less than 3 kilos of matted fur and mud . His transformation was so impressive that it was recorded for posterity in a publication made by the shelter.
The images have already traveled a good part of the planet, seen by more than 26 million souls, at least until last Wednesday afternoon. However, from the shelter they have reported that, despite his improvement, Simon still needs some special care .
“Simon will need some dental work and his skin is a bit dry, but overall, we are satisfied and very happy with his health,” said KC Pet Project spokespersons.
On the other hand, they also reported that Simon was already neutered , which means that he had a home before , that he was someone’s pet at some point. However, it is hard to find that person, since Simon does not have a microchip or any identification .
However, these big-hearted people , capable of giving everything for animal welfare, will not stop until they find out who Simon belongs to . They are still looking for his original caregiver, but he is such a cute puppy that they have also received dozens of requests to adopt him.
According to the director of communications for the KC Pet Project foundation, Tori Fugate, the help they were able to give Simon was made possible thanks to donations received by the Roadrunner Medical Fund, attached to the organization.
“We all love seeing these before and after moments that show a pet at its worst and then how, through medicine, love and care, a life can be transformed,” Fugate said.
Normally, when you get attached to a dog or a cat left to their own devices, you get excited about wanting to help them . Almost immediately we end up realizing what they represent, but also that good intentions alone cannot solve the problem.
